As you enter the Memorial Room you'll be struck by a hushed silence of reverence and awe. This special place is dedicated to preserving the memory of the Titanic and all those aboard. Floating in the room is a symbolic and haunting reminder of that fateful night. It is the life vest worn by Madeleine Astor and the only one in existence that can be tied to a Titanic passenger. In your Web journey through the Titanic you have previewed seven of the twenty galleries that make up the grand tour. You have seen how passengers and crew lived aboard ship. You've learned of their hopes and dreams and you've come to know them as real people with real stories to tell. Now, etched on the surface of four illuminated glass panels, the names of those who survived and those who didn't are revealed. Were you following in the footsteps of a survivor or sadly, tracing a victim's ghostly trail. Will yours be a sigh of relief or the shock of grim reality?
